Home / Experience / Introduction
Jinzora was originally designed for on-demand streaming of MP3's from one centralized media library to multiple clients. Though Jinzora now supports all major audio and video formats the basic philosophy never changed.
Stop copying and synchronizing your music between your desktop computer, notebook, home stereo, car stereo, mobile phone, PDA and iPod. Enjoy your music at home, at work or at a friends place from one single storage location.
Since Jinzora is a web based application written in PHP, it requires a web server with PHP support to run. Once you've got that, the first step is to install Jinzora on your server. We've created a Web Based Installer (WBI) that guides you through the installation process. The WBI reads your media collection and stores path and file name information in a database.
Based on this information, Jinzora dynamically creates web pages you can use to browse through your online collection using any device with a web browser. The Jinzora Interface adds a lot of functionality to your new media library, including the ability to stream your media or send it to third party hard- and software, all from the same browser. The Feature List holds an explanation of the most interesting features.
Nothing! Jinzora is completely free for personal and even commercial use. We've chosen to release Jinzora under the terms of GNU's General Public License (GPL). This means you can use, modify and even redistribute Jinzora for free!
If you really love Jinzora, we hope you'll consider contributing something back.
