Media Transcoding

Jinzora’s on-the-fly transcoding converts your media into another media format or codec.

Transcoding is the direct digital-to-digital conversion from one code to another. For example, converting FLAC-files into MP3-files.

Use transcoding to stream media that can’t be streamed natively or to stream to a device or player that doesn’t support the original media format.

All transcoding is done in memory and in real-time: Media files do not have to be pre-converted, no additional copies are stored and the original file stays untouched.

Transcoding is handled by Jinzora through the use of a third-party application called ‘lame’.
