Metadata Retrieval
Jinzora can retrieve metadata, including ID3-tag info, album covers and song lyrics.
Data that holds information about your media collection is refered to as metadata. Metadata can be encapsulated inside a media file or stored externally on a filesystem.
A well known example of encapsulated metadata is the ID3-tag of MP3-files, containing metadata like the track title, name of the performing artist and song lyrics.
Externally stored metadata includes image files containing album covers or artist pictures and text files containing album and artist reviews.
Metadata helps applications to manage a collection and plays a big role In searching and finding files.
Jinzora can retrieve missing metadata in two ways:
If your collection is organized neatly on your filesystem, Jinzora can extract and write ID3-tag info from file- and foldernames.
Metadata that isn’t available yet, can be downloaded by using web services from Google Music, Amazon, MusicBrainz and more. This is a great way to get album covers and song lyrics.
